We simply find that unlike many wood species, it reacts well to the drying process. It retains its clean appearance and structural attributes while not twisting, turning, or checking/cracking excessively as it dries. To ensure a continued high quality standard, our logs are periodically inspected at the mill by a third party, Timber Products Inspection, Inc. (or "TPI"). While we utilize Eastern White Pine exclusively for wall logs, we do use a variety of wood species for other applications to take advantage of specific characteristics, such as Douglas Fir for floor joists and roof rafters, Red Cedar for exterior trim, and White Cedar for exterior railings. |
